Appointment of Chief Justice

At its meeting today, the Government decided to nominate The Hon. Mr. Justice Frank Clarke for appointment by the President as Chief Justice.

The Government has taken the necessary steps to formally advise President Higgins of the nomination in accordance with constitutional procedure.

Chairman of the Bar Council of Ireland: 1993 - 1995

Chairman of the Referendum Commission on the 28th Amendment of the Constitution (Lisbon Treaty II)
