Taoiseach and Prime Minister Cameron meet in Downing Street

On Monday, the Taoiseach met with British Prime Minister David Cameron at No 10 Downing Street.

The leaders discussed the forthcoming EU/UK negotiations. They also reviewed progress under the Ireland/UK Joint Work Programme, developments in Northern Ireland and other areas of mutual interest.

Dublin Action Plan for Jobs Launched

On Monday the Government launched the Dublin Action Plan for Jobs, aimed at delivering 10-15% employment growth in the capital over the coming years.

The Plan is the final of 8 regional jobs plans published over recent months, as part of a new €250million regional jobs strategy led by Jobs Minister Richard Bruton.

Credit Suisse announce 100 new jobs for Dublin

On Wednesday, investment bank Credit Suisse announced 100 new jobs today as they opened a new trading floor in Dublin. 

The bank will open the new trading floor in Dublin's IFSC, after moving part of its Prime Services business from London to Dublin. The new positions include 40 trading, risk and capital professionals and 60 support roles.

National Skills Strategy 2025 launched

Taoiseach Enda Kenny, Tánaiste Joan Burton, Minister Jan O'Sullivan and Minister of State Damien English today launched Ireland's Future - the National Skills Strategy to 2025.

The Strategy identifies Ireland’s current skills profile, provides a strategic vision and specific objectives for Ireland’s future skills requirements, and sets out a road map for how the vision and objectives can be achieved. 

Building on Recovery in the Mid West

On Friday, Taoiseach Enda Kenny joined Finance Minister Michael Noonan and Education Minister Jan O’Sullivan in Limerick to highlight the benefits of the Government’s capital investment programme, Building on Recovery, for the Mid West region.
