Yesterday the Taoiseach attended the Ireland Japan Chamber of Commerce Business Breakfast, held meetings with Japanese Business Federation and individual companies, and met with Crown Prince Naruhito. He later met with Japan Ireland Parliamentary Friendship League, followed by a meeting and press conference with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
The Taoiseach today attended a food industry seminar titled “Origin Green: Natural and sustainable Irish Food and Drink”. He then held a meeting with Japan Meat Traders Association and Irish Beef Industry Representatives, followed by the Green Energy Symposium by JETRO (Japan External Trade Organisation). The Taoiseach then addressed the Japan Institute for International Affairs.
During the day the Taoiseach also met with the Vice President of the United States, Joe Biden, and the United States Ambassador to Japan Caroline Kennedy. Later the Taoiseach met with Northern Ireland Executive First Minister Peter Robinson and Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness.
