Taoiseach to attend meeting of the European Council

Taoiseach Enda Kenny and the Minister for European Affairs and Data Protection Dara Murphy will travel to Brussels today for a meeting of the European Council. This will be the first European Council meeting to be chaired by Donald Tusk, who took over as President of the European Council on 1 December. 

A main focus of the meeting will be on efforts to boost investment levels and improve the investment environment in Europe, in order to foster growth and generate employment.
The European Council will also discuss the current situation in Ukraine and EU-Russia relations, as well as other external relations topics.
