Taoiseach to join other world leaders at the opening of climate change negotiations in Paris

The Taoiseach will join other world leaders in Paris today for the opening of the global climate change negotiations, known as COP 21. He will lend his support to an ambitious and comprehensive agreement.

Delivering Ireland’s National Statement, the Taoiseach will call for an agreement that limits global temperature increases and sends a strong signal to all countries to make the transition to a low carbon, climate-resilient future. He will outline the policy framework introduced by the Government to tackle the spectrum of climate change issues. He will also set out Ireland’s support for developing countries adapting to the effects of climate change and making the transition to low-carbon development.
Ends.
