This week accounting firm PwC announced its plans to create 500 new jobs in 2016, both graduate and experienced positions. We've seen similar announcements throughout the year from companies like Alexion Pharmaceuticals, Dealz, Uber, DPD Couriers to name but a few.

1,000 jobs in Apple in Cork
Last month the tech giant announced it was creating an additional 1,000 jobs with the expansion of its Cork campus. It is estimated that Apple supports nearly 18,000 jobs across the country, including over 5,000 direct Apple employees - an increase of 25% in the past year alone. Read more
Google’s new data centre in Dublin
In August, Google announced it was investing €150m in a new data centre in West Dublin. The investment would create 400 jobs during the construction phase and 30 new Google employees at the centre once completed. Read more
Pramerica create 330 jobs in Donegal
The shared services & technology company announced in July it is expanding operations in Donegal creating 330 new jobs over the next three years, with potential for further growth in the longer term. Read more
PWC adds extra 500 jobs nationwide
This week the professional services firm announced it will hire 500 new staff in 2016, with 300 graduate positions and 200 for senior staff throughout the company's seven locations in Ireland.
Uber sets up centre in Limerick
The car service provider announced during the summer it will establish a Centre of Excellence in Limerick, creating 150 jobs this year and another 150 jobs when the Centre is completed.
Lakeland Dairies expands in Cavan
Earlier this year, Lakeland Dairies announced a €36m investment in an expansion of a milk powder processing operation in Cavan, creating 81 full-time jobs and 180 construction jobs. Read more
Combilift manufacturing facility on Monaghan
Monaghan-based forklift and construction vehicle manufacturer Combilift announced the construction of a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in February. The construction would create 200 construction jobs and 200 full-time employees in the facility once completed. Read more
Eishtec expands into Tipperary with 200 jobs
In September, Waterford-based customer service solution provider Eishtec announced the creation of 200 jobs over six months in its new custom built centre in Clonmel, County Tipperary. Read more
Rye River Brewing Company adds 250 jobs in Kildare
The Rye River Brewing Company announced in October it would hire an extra 150 employees across manufacturing, customer service, brewing, export, general operatives and management. The brewing company also announced it would create up to 100 jobs in the construction of the new brewery plant and visitor centre which is to open in late spring 2016.
Electricity plant creates 380 jobs in Mayo
In June, the construction of a €180m electricity generating plant was announced, creating 350 construction jobs and 30 employees at the Mayo Renewable Power plant in Killala.
