The Office of Public Works is currently undertaking a major programme of reconstruction works to Chesterfield Avenue, the main road through the Phoenix Park. In view of the advanced status of these works and in order to assist the anticipated increase in numbers visiting the Phoenix Park over the holiday period, the stretch of Chesterfield Avenue between the Gough and the Phoenix roundabouts will reopen to traffic from the morning of Friday 23

December 2011. A strict speed control of 50km per hour will continue to apply.

In the interest of the safety of all, it is requested that all users of the Park observe the directional signs and speed limits that are in place. The ongoing co-operation of all users of the Park during this important programme of works is greatly appreciated.
