An Taoiseach, Leo Varadkar joined world leaders, including Secretary General of the United Nations Antonio Guterres, to discuss financial steps to support developing countries through the Covid-19 crisis and into recovery, ensuring the pandemic does not de-rail efforts to secure the world’s Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.
Drawing on Ireland’s experience, the Taoiseach said:
History has shown us that the times when our world faces its greatest social and economic challenges are when we need to match our words with actions the most. Covid-19 is a test of our global solidarity. None of us will be safe until everyone is safe.
