Currently employing 900 people, LinkedIn has 100 open positions in Ireland at the moment for sales managers, insight analysis, applied scientists, HR managers and finance managers.

Speaking at the event, the Taoiseach noted that

The calibre of people employed by LinkedIn reflects the quality of the Irish workforce and is another reason why Ireland is seen as a global centre for technology and internationalisation.

The Taoiseach took the opportunity to start a national conversation on Irish people abroad coming home to work, under the Twitter hashtag "#hometowork".

The Taoiseach said that it's hoped that between now and 2020, 70,000 people will return home to Ireland to work.
