Min Quinn addressed the National Council for Special Education’s Research Conference in Croke Park this morning.

Research published by the National Council for Special Education has recommended the development of a national policy on transitions to post-school education for students with special educational needs. The research showed a lack of information on options and supports available to students. This was among the topics discussed at the NCSE’s Annual Research Conference today.

The number of students declaring that they have a disability in higher education in Ireland has increased five-fold over the last decade. However, data on the number of students with disabilities in the further education sector is incomplete, which means we do not have a full national picture of where students go after they complete school.
