Minister Coveney attends twenty fifth North South Ministerial Council Agriculture Meeting

The twenty fifth North South Ministerial Council Agriculture meeting was held in Armagh today.The meeting was attended by Agriculture Minister Simon Coveney and Minister of State Environment, Community and Local Government,Ann Phelan.
Ministers discussed the recent floods and the steps being taken in both jurisdictions to deal with the problems created for farmers and rural communities and also recent price volatility issues being experienced by all sectors of the agricultural industry and measures to help farmers and the food industry to cope with volatility.
The Council agreed to hold the next Agriculture meeting in Autumn 2016.
