Minister Donohoe meets with European Commission Executive Vice-President Margrethe Vestager

The Minister for Finance, Paschal Donohoe TD, this morning (Friday) met with European Commission Executive Vice-President (EVP) Margrethe Vestager in the Department of Finance during her visit to Dublin.

 

EVP Vestager was in Dublin for a series of meetings with Government figures as well as other engagements.

 

The Minister and EVP Vestager discussed matters of mutual interest, and in particular the economic challenges brought about by recent energy and inflationary developments.

 

Speaking following the meeting, Minister Donohoe said:

“I was delighted to welcome Executive Vice-President Vestager to the Department this morning during her visit to Dublin, and to have the opportunity to discuss the shared economic challenges that we face in terms of inflation and cost of living, which are being felt here in Ireland, across Europe and more widely. 

 

EVP Vestager’s visit occurs during the 50th anniversary of Ireland’s EU membership, and highlights the continued importance of our shared partnership as we work together for the benefit of all our citizens.
