“We also discussed Ireland’s work on the United Nations Security Council in relation to some of those pressing issues currently before the Council, including Syria, Iran, Ethiopia and the importance of renewing progress towards a viable, negotiated solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.”

Minister Asselborn is visiting Dublin in order to officially mark the opening of the new Embassy of Luxembourg to Ireland. Welcoming this, Minister Coveney said:

“The opening of the new Embassy of Luxembourg is a very significant step in Irish-Luxembourg bilateral relations. It clearly demonstrates the importance that Luxembourg places on their bilateral relationship with Ireland and will provide substantial scope to develop the already warm and productive cooperation and relations between our two countries.”
