New Ambassadors present Credentials

Her Excellency, Ms. Carolina Zaragoza Flores, Ambassador of Mexico, His Excellency, Mr. Fahad Bin Mohammed A. Al-Attiyah, Ambassador of the State of Qatar and His Excellency, Mr. Manar Dabbas, Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan presented their Letters of Credence to President Michael D. Higgins at Áras an Uachtaráin today.

 

Her Excellency, Ms. Carolina Zaragoza Flores, Ambassador of Mexico, was accompanied by her spouse, Mr. José Velez, and Mrs. María Teresa Rosas Jasso, Deputy Head of Mission.

 

His Excellency, Mr. Fahad Bin Mohammed A. Al-Attiyah, Ambassador of the State of Qatar was accompanied by Mr. Mohammed Abdulaziz Al-Attiyah, First Secretary.

 

His Excellency, H.E. Mr. Manar Dabbas, Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan was accompanied by Mr. Omar Ababneh, Deputy Head of Mission

 

Mr. Frank Feighan TD, Minister of State for the Department of Health, with responsibility for Public Health, Well Being and the National Drugs Strategy, represented the Government at the ceremony.

 

The following were also present: Ms. Orla O’Hanrahan, Secretary General to the President; Ms. Sonja Hyland, Deputy Secretary General, Department of Foreign Affairs; Col. Stephen Howard, Comdt. Brian Walsh, Comdt. Deirdre Newel, Capt. Pól Ó Domhnaill, Aides-de-Camp to the President; Mr. Joe Brennan, Ms Marylee Wall and Ms Louisa Heneghan, Protocol, Department of Foreign Affairs.

 

The Ambassadors were accompanied to and from Áras an Uachtaráin by an Escort of Honour consisting of a motorcycle detachment drawn from the 2 Brigade Cavalry Squadron, Cathal Brugha Barracks, Dublin, under the command of Lieutenant Tadhg Campbell

 

A Guard of Honour was provided at Áras an Uachtaráin by the 12th Infantry Battalion, Sarsfield Barracks, Limerick under the command of Lieutenant Kimberly King.

 

Lieutenant Mark McGirr from the 12th Infantry Battalion was the flag officer.

 

Captain Thomas Kelly conducted Band 2 Brigade which is based in Custume barracks, Athlone.
